With 120 goals and 42 assists in 269 appearances, many consider the Senegal international a legend of the EPL giants, in addition to the fact that he is one of the most successful African players in their history too.
Unsurprisingly, Mane shared a special relationship with some of his colleagues on Merseyside, one of them being Netherlands international Georginio Wijnaldum.
Coincidentally, the pair joined Liverpool during the same window in 2016, and Mane says he and the midfielder went on to build a close bond during their time as teammates.
"Gini is one of my very good friends," he said, according to the Liverpool Echo. "It's more than football, because our relationship came naturally.
"When I was in Liverpool, we came at the same time, and he's this kind of person that once he's in the team, he becomes friends with everybody. Everybody likes him!
"He is special, and this is the reason when I was there we've been good friends – and he was always in my house.
"Sometimes he would call me to come to my house, and I'm like 'No, not yet. Get out of here!'"
