England and Germany completed their league campaigns last week, with Manchester City and Bayer Leverkusen having been crowned champions, respectively.
We now take a look at every African star who got their hands on a league title in Europe's top five top-flight divisions this season, with the caveat that no African star won the Premier League or Serie A title this season due to City and Inter Milan, respectively, having no players from the continent in their title-winning squads.
Bundesliga - Bayer Leverkusen
The Xabi Alonso-led side has had a historic 2023/24 campaign, with the club winning its first-ever Bundesliga title. Remarkably, Leverkusen clinched the German title in record-breaking fashion, sealing their triumph without losing a single league match. Their unbeaten record this term stretched to 51 games before it was sensationally halted by Atalanta, who beat them 3-0 in the final of the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday night.
Their success this season had a huge African influence, with Victor Boniface, Edmond Tapsoba, and Amine Adli playing a prominent role in the team. Boniface has been one of the best signings of the season, having joined Leverkusen for a modest fee of €20.5 million (R408 million) from Union Saint-Gilloise. The Nigerian finished as his club's top scorer in the league, with 14 goals in 23 matches, and had a further nine assists to his name. Moroccan winger Amine Adli also played a starring role, chipping in with four goals and six Bundesliga assists.
Full list: Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso), Odilon Kossounou (Ivory Coast), Amine Adli (Morocco), Victor Boniface (Nigeria), Nathan Tella (Nigeria).

Ligue 1 - Paris Saint-Germain
Morocco international Achraf Hakimi is the only African to have won Ligue 1 this term, after PSG clinched a third successive league title this season. The 25-year-old was the club's highest-scoring defender in the French top tier, contributing with four goals and an additional five assists. Hakimi has been a mainstay in the PSG squad since joining the club back in 2021 from Inter Milan. So far, he has won four Ligue 1 trophies and two French Super Cup titles.
LALIGA - Real Madrid
Real Madrid's Brahim Diaz is the third Moroccan to win a top-five league in Europe this season. The attacker returned to the club this term after a few loan spells at AC Milan. In March, the 24-year-old made his first appearance for the Atlas Lions, ending the nation's lengthy pursuit of his services from Spain. Diaz played an influential part in Real's LALIGA-winning campaign, having played 31 matches, contributing with eight goals and seven assists. Unfortunately, he was beaten to the 2023/24 LALIGA EA SPORTS African MVP award by Athletic Club's Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams.
