After Napoli took drastic action against Victor Osimhen following a turbulent transfer window, a PSL star has publicly expressed his support for the Nigeria striker.
The Serie A side have excluded the forward from their squad list for the season ahead, and stripped him of the prestigious No. 9 jersey after he failed to secure a deadline-day move to Chelsea, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The forward had also been linked with a number of other clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, and is believed to have agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ahli.
However, it has also been suggested that the Gulf side could not reach an agreement with Napoli for the player's transfer fee, and while the Italian club reached an agreement with Chelsea on this matter, the player is said to have not been satisfied with the personal terms the London club offered him.
After a forgettable off-season, Osimhen has received support from Chippa United star Stanley Nwabali, who took to social media to publicise his stance on the saga.
"All great Legends and all Hall Of Fame fighters have their storylines," he wrote on X.
"Good, bad and worst kind of views from people who have no idea what the real story is and what it takes.
"I would define a myth as a story that has survived."

Meanwhile, Napoli manager Antonio Conte has expressed sympathy for the situation the Super Eagles talisman currently finds himself in.
"Some issues blocked it; perhaps if we had unlocked that [Osimhen] situation, we would have completed the team differently and earlier," the coach said, per Cult of Calcio via Soccernet.ng.
"I'm sorry about what happened. I'm sorry for Osimhen. I'm sorry for the club that didn't monetise.
"I am sorry for myself because we didn't complete the team as we wanted, but the club proved to be consistent in this situation.
"Coherence is the starting point when it comes to respecting the rules. The club proved consistent, so I praise them for this attitude."

With Gli Azzurri having completed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea last Friday, many view him to be Osimhen's replacement at the club.
The Belgium forward scored on his debut for the team over the weekend, coming off the bench to help his new side come from a goal down to beat Parma by two goals to one.
