Walter Musona 'to join' another African club

Former Polokwane City star Walter Musona is reportedly set to make a new move with talks said to be at an advanced stage.

Musona, who currently captains Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Simba Bhora, has been one of the standout performers in his domestic league this season.

His exploits have earned him a place among the PSL's Soccer Stars of the Year, with 10 goals and 10 assists to his name during Simba Bhora's title-winning campaign.

According to Nehanda Radio, the 28-year-old midfielder is in advanced discussions with Scottland FC, a team based in Mabvuku.

Should negotiations be finalised, Musona would join Scottland FC as a free agent.

His contract with Simba Bhora is set to expire on 31 December 2024, following a one-year stint at the club after leaving FC Platinum earlier this year.

Musona previously plied his trade in South Africa, playing for Polokwane City between 2017 and 2020 before a brief stint with Sekhukhune United in 2021.

The following year, he returned to Zimbabwe to continue his football journey.

His commanding displays for Simba Bhora this season have not only secured the club's first-ever league title, just two years after their promotion to the top flight, but also made him a strong contender for the Soccer Star of the Year award.
