Wydad reveal Rulani's target for rest of the season

Wydad Casablanca general manager Youssef Dabbagh has revealed Rulani Mokwena's target for the remainder of the season.

The Casablanca outfit will finish the 2024/25 campaign without a trophy after they were dumped out of the Throne Cup a couple weeks ago, while RS Berkane have already been crowned league champions.

Mokwena's future in Morocco has been questioned after results in recent weeks.

However, Dabbagh revealed this week that the goal is to win the remaining matches in the league and qualify for the CAF Champions League.

"The club's management has developed a plan to strengthen the team before the start of the Club World Cup. These signings aim to bolster the squad so that we can compete in a way that satisfies the fans and puts Moroccan football in a respectable context," the general manager told Radio Mars.

"Wydad is seeking to win the remaining matches of the league, hoping to catch up with the runner-up, after which it will head to new signings. The club is also seeking new sponsors to boost its revenues.

"Wydad is a well-established club and will represent Moroccan football in this (Club) World Cup. It hopes to uphold its history and reputation, especially since it places the club's fans at the top of its priorities."

The FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the USA, runs from 14 June to 13 July.
