Wydad Athletic Club's president-elect Hicham Ait Menna is now reportedly working to ensure that a continental reunion between Rulani Mokwena and Mamelodi Sundowns is a strong possibility.
While the Moroccan outfit has been linked with many players in the current transfer window, the side is still facing a transfer ban imposed on them by FIFA for breaching the contracts of three of their former players.

According to Kooora, this ban has caused the three-time CAF Champions League winners to require a participation licence from Africa's footballing body in order to compete in continental competitions.
An example of such tournaments would be the African Football League, the next edition of which is claimed to be scheduled for January and February next year.
It is believed that most of the teams that competed in the inaugural edition of the AFL are set to feature at the next instalment, including Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Tunisia's Esperance Sportive de Tunis, as well as Mokwena's former team and current title holders Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Brazilians won the tournament after beating Wydad in the final in November last year.
It is understood that Ait Menna is now focusing on paying off the side's debts in an attempt to get the ban lifted.
It has further been claimed that CAF have informed Wydad of the importance of resolving their issues with FIFA in order to be able to compete in the next AFL.

In the meantime, it is believed that the Red Castle's current first-team players – 27 of them – will be presented to Mokwena in training sessions over the coming days, where the South African tactician will decide which players he wants to keep and those who can be shipped out.
