Wydad president confirms transfer plans for Rulani

Wydad Casablanca president Hicham Ait Mena has confirmed the team's plans for the January transfer window following the departure of some players this week.

Former AC Milan striker Mbaye Niang has left the Moroccan giants despite only joining the club in the last transfer window.

The 30-year-old registered just two goals in eight Botola Pro 1 appearances this campaign, but has now decided to leave Casablanca, forcing the club to dip into the transfer market.

"We need to sign at least one striker, and maybe two, to ensure the balance of the squad and achieve the required goals," Ait Mena told Mars Attak.

The Wydad president also explained why Niang's stay with the club has come to an end after a few months.

"Niang was not able to integrate well into the system, perhaps due to the adaptation period or the different style of play," he added.

"Despite that, he was a very professional player and did not cause any problems, and the contract was terminated by an amicable agreement."
