'Ronaldo can be a great manager with his Simeone & Zidane traits'

Cristiano Ronaldo has been tipped to become a great manager by a former teammate, who believes he has traits akin to Diego Simeone and Zinedine Zidane.

Many would consider the Portuguese to be in the twilight of his career at the age of 39, but the attacker has shown no signs of retiring, especially after netting 44 goals and bagging 13 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions for Al Nassr last season.

The former Real Madrid star also participated in his 11th major international tournament, helping Portugal to the quarter-final stage of the 2024 UEFA European Championship, where they were knocked out by France on penalties.

Given the five Ballon d'Or awards and everything else Ronaldo has achieved during his career, former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has tipped the Saudi Pro League star to emulate that success as a manager too.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has the ability to be a very successful manager, we've seen his energy and his passion," the former France striker told CSDB.gg, per GOAL

"He'd have the desire of Diego Simeone and the credibility of Zinedine Zidane. That combination as well as all his experience of working under Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti as well as Sir Alex Ferguson, the knowledge he would bring is crazy.

"It's not just about football but he represents so much in terms of how you should conduct yourself and go about achieving your goals, he could be a manager, a club president.

"It's admirable what he has done, he's a human being that makes mistakes like anybody but he has never stopped working hard."

Saha also went on to label his teammate as the "greatest to ever do it", insisting that the Portugal international has achieved everything there is to achieve as a player.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has proven everything he needs to prove, he has no obligation to do anything else now - he has done it all.

"He is the best ambassador of sport in general, I haven't seen any athlete in the world who has sacrificed as much as he has. Some will call him obsessed or crazy but he is the greatest to ever do it.

"I respect the player and the man and not just because I played with him, it doesn't matter where he ends up retiring because of what he has done in the game."
