Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Pavol Safranko got on the scoresheet for his new club in Azerbaijan following an eight-game goal drought.
Safranko's time in South Africa was quite brief, as the Slovakian star lasted just one season at Chloorkop after Sundowns splashed €700,000 (R13.4 million) to lure him away from Romanian outfit Sepsi OSK in July 2021, as per Transfermarkt.

Following another two seasons with Sepsi after his return from Sundowns, Šafranko signed for Azerbaijani top-flight side Sabah FK on a free transfer in July 2024.
The 30-year-old finally broke his barren run in front of goal on Sunday when he scored in a 3-1 away defeat to Shamakhi in the Premyer Liqa 24/25, taking his overall tally to five league goals in 18 outings.
Safranko had gone eight league games without scoring for his side, who currently lie fifth on the table after 18 matches played.
In the midst of his goal drought, Safranko's misfortunes were made worse when he was involved in a tackle that left an opposition player with a broken leg last month.
On 24 November, during a league game against Turan Tovuz, Safranko's tackle left opposition defender Denis Marandici with a broken leg, which prompted an ambulance to be called onto the pitch.
Marandici was taken to hospital, and Safranko would later apologise for the incident via his Instagram, according to the Evening Telegraph.
"With words I cannot explain how sorry I am from the bottom of my heart and soul Denis Marandici.
"Wish you a speedy recovery."
