With Neymar having not kicked a ball since October 2023, the Brazilian superstar has admitted that, on some days, he just wants to give up.
Neymar has spent the past nine months on the sidelines due to torn anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up while on international duty with Brazil last October.

As such, the 32-year-old played just five matches for his latest club Al Hilal last season, and could not contribute much to the side's 2023/24 Saudi Pro League triumph.
Moreover, the former Paris Saint-Germain star also missed out on the 2024 Copa America, and his absence was notable as the Selecao crashed out of the showpiece at the quarter-final stage last month at the hands of Uruguay, who, ironically, was Neymar's last opponent when he picked up his long-term injury.
With no clear date on when he will be fit to return to action, Neymar has revealed that his road to recovery has been a difficult one, prompting thoughts of potentially quitting the game, according to ESPN.
"After I suffered this injury, there are days that are difficult, there are days that I want to give up. It's hard to go through all of this," the former FC Barcelona star wrote on Instagram.
"But here's a warrior who won't stop until I get what I want! God is my strength and my fortress. We will continue fighting every day."
Neymar continues to train individually and not with his teammates, who are currently in a pre-season camp.
Speaking in May, Al Hilal boss Jorge Jesus told ESPN that the South American attacker could be back as early as September.
"The [recovery] time they give Neymar, in an injury like this, is normally between 10 and 11 months," the tactician said.
"Neymar will not be operational at the start of next season. We think that in September, October, he may be in a position to compete."
