Xavi & Barca blasted for 'flirting' with Bayern star

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has lashed out at Xavi Hernandez and FC Barcelona for publicly "flirting" with one of their stars.

Reports claim that Barcelona are keen on signing Bayern star Joshua Kimmich, who was said to be unhappy in Munich.

Xavi recently revealed spoke about Kimmich and used Robert Lewandowski as an example when asked about a possible transfer.

"Barça move? He is under contract with Bayern so it depends on him — look at Lewy for example, he wanted to come," Xavi told Jijantes.

The Bavarians has now hit out at the Barcelona manager's behaviour and says they have no desire to allow one of their leaders to leave.

"First of all, Xavi was an excellent player and I have big respect for Barcelona," Hainer said, as per Sky Germany.

"But I don't understand why they're openly and offensively 'flirting' with our player. Joshua Kimmich is an absolute cornerstone for us.

"Joshua is a leader, has won many titles with us and will also continue to win titles with us in the future. He's firmly in our plans for the future and one of the players to build the team around."
