Bayern to sign another Liverpool star?

Having brought in Sadio Mane from Liverpool last year, Bayern Munich are now reportedly interested in signing another Reds star.

The Bavarian giants are reportedly in search of their fourth transfer of the window following their €50 million (R997 million) signing of Kim Min-jae from Napoli, as well as the free-agent arrivals of Raphael Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer from Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, respectively.

The reigning Bundesliga champions are now said to have set their sights on another Liverpool player, just over 12 months after they acquired Mane from the Reds in a deal worth €32 million (R638 million) in July 2022.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are keeping a close eye on Fabinho's situation, amid reports linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian is believed to be close to joining Al Ittihad, the club that also employs Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante, but that transfer appears to have stalled despite the player reportedly agreeing to join the side.

The reigning Saudi Pro League champions are said to have submitted a £40 million (R918 million) bid to the Reds for the defensive midfielder but with those proceedings having seemingly halted, Thomas Tuchel's side is said to be ready to pounce should the deal fall through.

The German outfit is believed to be confident that Fabinho fits their desired profile, and are also claimed to be banking on their good relationship with his agent, Jorge Mendes, to see the transfer through.

With paperwork between Liverpool and Al Ittihad believed to be incomplete, a shock report has suggested that the move could hinge on the fact that some dog breeds are not allowed in Saudi Arabia.
