Bayern star 'determined' to join Man Utd

A Bayern Munich star is now reportedly determined to join Premier League side Manchester United.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is looking to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window and are considering making a move for striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, according to Fichajes.

The Bavarians, however, are said to be keen on keeping the player until the end of the season, which is also when his contract with the club is set to expire.

It has further been reported that Choupo-Moting would be delighted with the prospect of a move to Old Trafford during this month. It is believed that United, meanwhile, must still consider whether a move for the Cameroon international would be feasible.

The striker is said to be dissatisfied with the amount of game time he has been given this season. Up to this point in the season, the 34-year-old has made 16 Bundesliga appearances. However, 13 of those appearances have come off the bench.

The Red Devils have had their troubles in front of goal during the 2023/24 EPL campaign, managing to score just 24 goals in 21 matches with the current crop of forwards at Ten Hag's disposal not firing on all cylinders.

Rasmus Hojlund has managed to net just two leagues goals and Marcus Rashford, despite scoring in two consecutive games, has netted only four goals in 20 appearances. Anthony Martial is reportedly training alone due to a lack of match fitness.

The Manchester side will be hoping to change their fortunes when they take on EFL League Two side Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, 28 January.
