Bayern seal comeback victory with late winner

Bayern Munich secured a come-from-behind  2-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach to maintain their winning start to the Bundesliga season on Saturday evening.

Veteran attacker Thomas Muller was recalled from Bayern's win over FC Augsburg and took the place of another influential forward man in Serge Gnabry.

Muller very nearly showed why he was restored to the line-up over ten minutes played when he jumped ahead of a delivery before going wide through a stern header.

Gladbach remained calm and came close to the lead when Marvin Friedrich's powerful header following a pin-point supply by Alassane Plea slammed the upright.

That move inspired the host and right on the half-hour mark Ko Itakura made timeous connection to get on Maximilian Wober's flick-on to make the breakthrough.

The reigning champions were though nearly back on equal footing minutes to halftime when Leroy Sane's powerful from a decent position bounced off the upright.

After a tough half, the Bavarians introduced Konrad Laimer in the defensive department and hauled out Noussair Mazraoui before Leon Goretzka had a teasing attempt cleared off the line by Itakura.

Bayern cancelled the host' advantage ten minutes in the second half when Sane brought a perfect placed pass from Joshua Kimmich under control and comfortably tucked in.

With the matters balanced, the visitors could've snatched the lead through a point-blank effort from substitute Gnabry but he couldn't capitalise following Laimer's ball.

Although, the all-conquering title holders did grab the front with three minutes to go when Mathys Tel managed to meet Kimmich's corner to plant in a powerful header and ensured the victory.
