Bundesliga Wrap

Bayern Munich romped to a 5-0 victory over Hertha Berlin in Saturday's Bundesliga action, with Robert Lewandowski getting a hat-trick.

Thomas Muller gave the Bavarians the front earlier on before Lewandowski made it two and Jamal Musiala added a third after halftime.

The hat-trick from Lewandowski came with two late goals to see Bayern to second spot and successive wins following last week's narrow triumph over FC Koln.

Bayer Leverkusen slammed FC Augsburg 4-1 to confirm back-to-back league wins following last Saturday's 4-0 hammering over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Own-goals from Iago and Florian Niederlechner handed Leverkusen the ideal start, while the same Niederlechner reduced the tally towards the break.

Patrik Schick and Florian Wirtz however ruled out any comeback hopes late on to leave Augsburg winless and Leverkusen atop the standings.

A quick first half double from Jeong Woo-yeong steered SC Freiburg to an entertaining 3-2 victory over VfB Stuttgart to go into third spot on the table.

Jeong struck twice in the first ten minutes before Lucas Holer made matters more comfortable despite the best efforts of Konstantinos Mavropanos and Hamadi Al Ghaddioui.

Mainz put together their second win of the season with a commanding 3-0 triumph over the newly-promoted Furth.

Goals within the first 20 minutes by Anderson Lucoqui and Adam Szalai set the host on their way only for substitute Kevin Stoger to wrap up matters in the dying minutes of the match.

The win leaves the host in sixth spot, while their counterparts remain in the bottom-three still winless from three matches to date.

VfL Bochum failed to complete back-to-back victories in the league following a disappointing 2-1 loss out at FC Koln.

The match appeared to end goalless before the opener from Louis Schaub came in the last eight minutes and Tim Lemperle netting the second with the consolation from Simon Zoller at the death.

Eintracht Frankfurt's winless start to the campaign continued on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Arminia Bielefeld.

Frankfurt registered their first point in a goalless draw with Augsburg last week, and a first half finish from Jens Petter Hauge on this occasion was cancelled near the end by Patrick Wimmer.
