Christopher Nkunku broke the deadlock for Leipzig on the half-hour mark and Marco Reus levelled matters for Dortmund early in the second stanza.

However, Yussuf Poulsen restored the lead for the Red Bulls 22 minutes before time and that proved to be the winner.

Lukas Nmecha opened the scoring for the Wolves in the 14th minute and that was enough to hand their sixth win of the campaign.

Bochum pulled four points clear of the relegation zone after beating Hoffenheim 2-0 at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.

Following a first-half without goals, Soma Novothny eventually broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 66th minute and Bochum were awarded a penalty ten minutes later and they gave it to goalkeeper Manuel Riemann who ballooned the spot-kick over the bar.

However, Milos Pantovic eventually sealed the three points deep in stoppage time.

Arminia Bielefeld picked up their first victory after a narrow 1-0 win over Stuttgart at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Masaya Okugawa scored the decisive goal for Arminia in the 19th minute and they managed to hold on for their first win at the 11th attempt.
