Bayern edge past Hertha, Dortmund thrash Bochum

Hertha Berlin 2-3 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich went to the top of the Bundesliga standings after picking up a 3-2 victory over Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

The Bavarians were up and running early on through Jamal Musiala and their dominant start continued when Eric Choupo-Moting struck twice in the matter minutes before the interval.

Berlin hit back through Dodi Lukebakio before a spot-kick on the brink of halftime by Davie Selke reduced Bayern's dominance in an action packed first half.

No goals from either of the side were added following the second period and the Bavarians walked away victorious.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 VfL Bochum

Borussia Dortmund extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to five matches with a 3-0 victory over VfL Bochum at the Signal Iduna Park.

It was a strong start from the Black and Yellow as Youssoufa Moukoko opened the deadlock before a penalty-kick from Giovanni Reyna doubled their tally in quick succession.

Dortmund completed their dominant spell at the end of the first half after Moukoko bagged a brace to give his side a third and a comfortable cushion.

TSG Hoffenheim 1-3 RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig edged towards the top-four bracket on the table following a 3-1 victory at the Rhein-Neckar Arena against TSG Hoffenheim.

The highly-rated Christopher Nkunku put the visitors in front early on, but Georginio Rutter drew Hoffenheim back on equal terms.

Nkunku, though, bagged a brace moments following the break before Dani Olmo provided the icing on the cake and handed the away outfit a comprehensive victory.

Mainz 05 0-3 VFL Wolfsburg

VFL Wolfsburg continued pushing up the table after a slow start to the season as they thumped Mainz 05 3-0 on the road.

Patrick Zimmer's 33rd minute strike steered the travelling outfit ahead shortly before the halftime period came and Maximilian Arnold as well as Ridle Baku capped off a fine day's work for the visitors.

FC Augsburg 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt cemented fifth spot on the table through a hard-fought 2-1 win over FC Augsburg away at the WWK Arena.

It was a bright opening for the host courtesy of Mergim Berisha's first minute effort, but Sebastian Rode restored parity and Ansgar Knauff snatched the winner late in the match.
