Bundesliga Wrap: Bayern Munich move top after scoring seven

Bayern Munich 7-0 VfL Bochum

Bayern Munich clinched their fourth consecutive victory in style after hammering newly-promoted side VfL Bochum 7-0 at the Allianz Arena.

The Bavarians were 4-0 up at the half-time break, courtesy of goals by Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and an own goal by Vasilis Lampropoulos.

Kimmich completed his brace in the second stanza, alongside goals from Robert Lewandowski and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

FC Koln 1-1 RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig extended their winless run to three matches after they were held to 1-1 draw by FC Koln at RheinEnergieStadion.

Dominik Szoboszlai thought the had opened the scoring for Leipzig in the sixth minute but his goal was ruled out for offside by the Video Assistant Referee.

Anthony Modeste eventually broke the deadlock for Koln early in the second stanza and the visitors were denied the equaliser by the VAR again in the 66th minute for offside after Emil Forsberg put the ball in the back of the net.

However, Amadou Haidara finally salvaged a point for the Red Bulls with the equaliser 19 minutes before time.

Augsburg 1-0 Borussia Monchengladbach

Augsburg won for the first time after a late 1-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach at WWK Arena.

After a goalless first stanza, Alassane Plea thought he had found the breakthrough for Gladbach early in the second stanza but his goal was chalked off by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for offside.

Florian Niederlechner broke the hearts of the visitors with a winner for Augsburg ten minutes before time.

Arminia Bielefeld 0-0 Hoffenheim

Arminia Bielefield remained winless after playing to a goalless stalemate with Hoffenheim on at Schuco Arena.

Bielefeld had the better chances in the first stanza, with Robin Hack cracking the post early in the game.

Hoffenheim dictated terms in the second stanza but it was Bielefield who came close to snatching the winner after Alessandro Schopf was also denied by the post in the dying minutes.

Mainz 0-0 Freiburg

In-form Mainz were denied their fourth victory of the season after they were held to a goalless draw by Freiburg at Mewa Arena.

The sides largely cancelled each other out throughout the game, with little clear-cut chances created and settled for the share of spoils.

A point took Mainz up to third on the log with ten points, just three points behind leaders Bayern Munich while Freiburg went up to fifth with nine points.
