Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko, 15, is closing in on a historic Bundesliga debut in 2020.
Prior to their meeting last week, a player had to be aged 16 years and six months before they could make their debut in the German top-flight.
But Cameroon-born forward Moukoko could be about to smash that record held by a former Dortmund star when he become eligible to represent the senior team later this year.
Moukoko has long been tipped for the top having made his debut for the Dortmund U17s at the age of 12.
He began the current campaign with the U19s and is firmly in the plans of manager Lucien Favre.
Before the coronavirus pandemic postponed the season Moukoko had scored 38 goals in 28 appearances.
Dortmund's youth coordinator Lars Ricken has told Kicker that the club are "very happy with the decision".
Before adding: "It immediately help the clubs, but also the young players in their development.
"The majority of clubs now want to give young, exceptionally talented players the opportunity to take the next step in development in absolutely exceptional cases."
