Brazil star responds to Lionel Messi's Copa America criticism

A Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain superstar has responded to Lionel Messi's criticism of the Copa America tournament, claiming that the FC Barcelona star never complains when things go in his favour.

The Argentina skipper was vocal in his criticism of the South American spectacle after being sent off in La Albiceleste's 2-1 third-place play-off victory over Chile.

Messi snubbed the medal ceremony, claiming that he did not want to form part of the corruption of the tournament.

PSG and Brazil defender Marquinhos hit back at the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's sentiments after the Selecao clinched their ninth Copa title.

"Many things happened in favor of him in Barcelona and in the national team, and I never saw him complaining about refereeing," he said, as per Marca.

"He has lost, (he) has to accept (it) quietly.

"It is frustrating to be held up against a player of his quality, a star who is admired by all, but the arbitrators have also favoured Messi a lot at Barcelona and in the national team."
