With Brazil having suffered a quarter-final exit from the 2024 Copa America at the hands of Uruguay, Luis Suarez has slammed a certain Selecao player after the match.
Uruguay booked a spot in the semis of the Copa America on Sunday after claiming a 4-2 win against Brazil on penalties, as the two sides played out to a goalless stalemate.
Notably, Uruguay were down to 10 men for a big part of the game after a VAR review led to midfielder Nahitan Nandez being sent off in the 74th minute.

Before the start of the match though, Brazil's Andreas Pereira controversially remarked: "The Uruguayan national team is very good, but if you take it name by name, we have a team that they dream of having."
This comment appears to have incensed Suarez, who would later address the matter during his post-match press conference.

According to Metro, when the Inter Miami striker was asked about Pereira's verdict after Uruguay knocked Brazil out of the tournament, Suarez said: "We have the best midfielders in the world, top-level players.
"To talk about Uruguay, you have to have a little more respect, know the history of Uruguay.
"Before I say which players want to be on the Brazilian national team, I have to say that the person who made that comment was [Giorgian] De Arrascaeta's reserve [at Flamengo], who is the best player in Brazilian football. So imagine what it's like for us to hear that.
Pereira seemingly recanted his statements after the game, explaining: "I simply said that I preferred it and I think our players are better, so if they used that to their advantage, they can do whatever they want.
"But at no time did I show any disrespect towards Uruguay."
