Bellingham secures ElClasico bragging rights for Real

Jude Bellingham bagged a brace as Real Madrid came from behind to beat arch-rivals FC Barcelona 2-1 in ElClasico on Saturday evening.

Robert Lewandowski was only fit enough to start on the bench before Andreas Christensen, Alejandro Balde and Gavi entered the Barca eleven, whilst Madrid had star man Jude Bellingham making his El Clasico debut.

It was strong start for the host as Ilkay Gundogan opened his account on six minutes when he managed to beat David Alaba to a square pass to the box to riffle past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

After a quiet spell, Barcelona almost doubled the lead from a snap effort by the exciting Fermin Lopez following a sharp turn from Ferran Torres but it didn't trouble Kepa.

Los Blancos came within inches of the equaliser around halftime when a through ball from Toni Kroos set Dani Carvajal in from a tight angle but the fullback's resultant effort hit the side-netting.

Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga was brought off the bench in the opening five minutes of the second half and replaced Ferland Mendy on the side of Madrid.

Barcelona were extremely close to a second from the head of Inigo Martinez after a layoff from Fermin, but he clattered the upright before Kepa parried Ronald Araujo on the follow-up.

The outfit managed by Carlo Ancelotti were metres away to the leveller from a ferocious 30-yard effort by Aurelien Tchouameni, but he was repelled by Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

Los Blancos did level it up 20 minutes from time as Bellingham got on the end of a floated delivery and set himself up to fire in the top corner.

The Englishman stole the show again when he beat the offside trap to get to fire through the legs of Ter Stegen and left Madrid to the Clasico victory.
