Ronaldo's special EPL clause with Al Nassr 'revealed'

A special Premier League clause in Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with Al Nassr has now reportedly been revealed.

The Portuguese forward's shock move to the Saudi Arabian club was announced on Friday night, with the player expected to be unveiled on Tuesday at 25 000-capacity Mrsool Park stadium.

Initial news regarding the 37-year-old's move to Al Nassr came as a surprise to many as it was believed that one of the reasons why the forward wanted to leave Manchester United was to play UEFA Champions League football.

According to Marca, however, the striker's time in the European competition may not be over as there is a clause in his Al Nassr deal that allows the veteran to sign for Newcastle United on loan if they qualify for the UCL.

This potential deal is possible because the Magpies are owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund following their takeover of the club in 2021.

Newcastle have impressed so far this season, and are currently third in the EPL, nine points behind log leaders Arsenal.

Ronaldo could be in line to make his debut for Al Nassr against Al Ta'ee on Thursday, with part of his medical said to have already been completed.

The goal-getter will soon meet up with his new manager Rudi Garcia, who joked on the weekend that he wanted Lionel Messi first before the team brought in the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. This has left some fearing that comment might have not gone down well with Ronaldo due to his longstanding rivalry with the Argentine.
