In a bizarre admission, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has revealed he tapes his mouth shut when he sleeps as part of his commitment to getting the most out of himself.
The Norwegian has often been likened to various non-living things such as robots or aliens on social media and among fans due to his dominant productivity in front of goal, with his unprecedented scoring heights in the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League being a huge reference point to these remarks.

According to UEFA, not only is he the fastest player to reach 30 goals in the Champions League – having done so in 25 games – but he also set the record for the most goals in a Premier League season last term, with 36 strikes.
His dazzling output has prompted questions over how he stays on top of his game, and the 22-year-old has now offered a bizarre tip as to how he does it.
Asked to give his top tip for other athletes on Logan Paul's YouTube show Impaulsive, Haaland said: "Movement, training, biomechanics, I'm a bit into, to use your body and make it work and function in the best possible way – I'm really into that.
"And I think sleep is the most important thing in the world. So to sleep good, simple kind of things – blue-blocking glasses, shutting out all the signals in the bedroom, I think is really important.
"[It's about] small things. I think to do a lot of things is not good but to do small things every single day for a longer period really pays off."
Paul then mentioned using tape on his nose while sleeping in order to open up his airways and alleviate symptoms of a deviated septum, to which Haaland replied: "You should try and tape your mouth then! Why not! [Or] when you train? It would be a bit difficult. I have it, I sleep with it."

Haaland also spoke about another one of his daily habits: using the sauna.
"I have it at my home so I try and do it not every single day but almost every day. Sauna, steam room," he added.
