It is claimed the musician, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is willing to pay £15 million (R343 million) for an 80% ownership of the English fourth-tier team.
The artist's New York-based lawyer Joe Tacopina is reportedly facilitating the deal, with the rapper said to be planning to use his celebrity friends to increase interest in Tranmere Rovers in the US in a bid to boosts the club's value should he decide to later sell the team.
A source told The Sun: "Rocky is tight with Joe and has committed to the Tranmere bid.
"Joe has been to Tranmere matches and Rocky has plans to go over, too, after the deal is completed.
"We may even see [ASAP Rocky's girlfriend and famous singer] Rihanna watching League Two football.
"Joe thinks Tranmere – a famous club, near to Liverpool – is undervalued, and that by clever marketing and celebrity endorsement, he can transform it. With the likes of Rocky on board, maybe so."

Some believe ASAP Rocky may have been influenced by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's purchase of English League One side Wrexham AFC in 2020.
Meanwhile, just 11 games into the 2024/25 League Two season, Tranmere Rovers are 16th on the table, 10 points adrift of log leaders Port Vale.
