It has now been claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo may have been part of the reason former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties this week.
More details have emerged since Tuchel's dismissal on Wednesday, with it being reported that the manager was not only dismissed for footballing reasons, but as a result of some internal conflict with management as well.
Chelsea were the biggest spenders in the latest transfer window, bringing in €281.99 million (R4.8 billion) worth of signings, according to Transfermarkt.

However, despite the club seemingly backing the German coach in the market, reports have now indicated there were some differences between the owners and Tuchel when it came to recruitment, with one proposed signing, in particular, said to have caused a rift between the head coach and new co-owner Todd Boehly.
According to the Metro, after Ronaldo was offered to Chelsea by his agent Jorge Mendes, Boehly was keen to bring the Manchester United talisman to Stamford Bridge as a statement signing, especially as a new forward was needed following Romelu Lukaku's loan departure for Inter Milan.
However, Tuchel quickly opposed that potential transfer, with the 49-year-old said to have felt the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was a poor fit for the way he wanted his side to play.
His refusal to listen to Boehly's suggestion is understood to have caused serious tension between the pair, eventually playing a part in the manager's shock sacking this week.
