Liverpool 'identify' number one target to replace Salah

Liverpool have reportedly identified their number one transfer target to replace Mohamed Salah.

According to the Mirror, the Reds have made Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane their main priority to replace the Egyptian star next season.

Salah was heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in the last transfer window, with Al-Ittihad reportedly expected to return next season again.

The report adds that Liverpool are ready to smash their club transfer record, currently held by Darwin Nunez (£80million), to sign the former Manchester City forward.

The Reds reportedly rejected a bid of £150million from the Saudi Arabian side just before the final but the club are expecting more offers to come through.

With reports in England claiming that Salah could leave to become the next high-profile star in Saudi Pro League, the Reds will use the money from that deal to sign Sane who has started the campaign with seven goals in 11 games.

Saudi Pro League director of football, Michael Emenalo recently stated that Salah is welcome to the league anytime.

"Mo is welcome at any time. Mo is my personal favourite. There are many world-class players showing interest," Emenalo said, as per the Mirror.

"It's a place where you can go and have fun and definitely improve their economics."
