EPL side 'in talks' to sign Mbappe in shock deal

Reports coming out of England claim that a Premier League side is in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe in a shock deal.

The French forward is not training with the PSG first team after confirming he won't be extending his contract beyond 2024.

PSG are now looking to sell the player now as they will lose him on a free transfer next year, with Real Madrid the likely destination.

With Mbappe refusing to entertain talks with  Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal after PSG reportedly accepted a world bid, Liverpool have now seemingly thrown their name in the race.

The Mirror have reported that the Reds are willing to take Mbappe on a one-year loan before he makes the switch to the Spanish capital next year to join Los Blancos.

The loan deal is expected to be a win-win for all parties, as the France international will get to leave the French capital and PSG will get some funds from the deal rather than getting nothing next year.

Mbappe has previously revealed that his mother and agent is a big fan of Liverpool, who they did speak to before joining PSG.

"We talked a little bit, but not too much," the PSG star told the Telegraph in 2022.

"We talked a little bit. I talked to Liverpool because it's the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool.

"I don't know why, you will have to ask her! It's a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It's a big club."

Liverpool have lost the services of Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but have only signed midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
