Liverpool are reportedly closing in on their first big signing for next season after reaching an agreement with a certain World Cup winner.
After seemingly pulling out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham, the Reds shifted their focus to Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Reds have got an agreement in principle with the Seagulls after talks progressed over the last day.

Jurgen Klopp has been keen to bolster his midfield department, as the club are reportedly set to part ways with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner, who is expected to join Brighton next season.
The report adds that Liverpool will be expected to fork out €60 million for the Argentine midfielder, who was key part of Argentina's success at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The player's father did reveal last month that the midfielder is likely to be playing for another team when the next transfer window opens.
"Normally, the next transfer window will find him playing for another club," Carlos, his father, told Puro Boca.
"We don't know which one, the talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will be playing for another team in July.
Mac Allister has been a key performer for Brighton this season, having bagged nine goals in 29 Premier League matches, which included a match-winner from the penalty spot against Manchester United on Thursday night.
