Liverpool star’s Bbg Real move edging closer?

A Liverpool star is reportedly closer to edging a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is in advanced discussions with Spanish giants Real Madrid regarding a potential move in 2025, according to former Everton CEO Keith Wyness.

Wyness revealed this to Football Insider, claiming the 25-year-old right-back is "talking a lot" with Los Blancos as speculation about his future at Anfield intensifies.

Alexander-Arnold's contract with Liverpool is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and the England international will be eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with Los Blancos from 1 January.

The LALIGA giants are said to be the frontrunners for his signature.

The Reds' academy graduate has cemented his status as one of the club's most decorated players.

With over 300 appearances to his name, he has lifted the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup during his time as a senior at the Merseyside outfit.

Wyness believes Liverpool are working behind the scenes to tie Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to new contracts.

However, Real's interest in the versatile defender appears to be gathering momentum.

"These three contract negotiations are ongoing very much in the background," Wyness said on the Inside Track podcast.

"Certainly, I'm hearing that Trent and Real Madrid are talking a lot at the moment. There's no doubt that Arne Slot has had a great start, and he'll have a much stronger position in these talks.

"He's been a great replacement for Klopp so far, and I've been very impressed with his start. His voice will now be heard even more on these issues as we move forward."
