Lukaku linked with move to Premier League rivals

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku could reportedly make a surprise move to a Premier League rival after Inter Milan withdrew their interest.

Inter were keen on re-signing Belgium's all-time leading scorer but changed their mind after he reportedly held talks to join Serie A rivals Juventus.

While Juventus are yet to make a final decision, the former Manchester United forward is among the players shortlisted to replace Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Kane is set to complete a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich this weekend, which will see the North London pocket a reported £100million in the deal.

The money coming in would allow Spurs to find a replacement for their all-time leading scorer, which could be Lukaku who is not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans going forward.

Some of the names included on the shortlist of strikers include FC Porto's Medhu Taremi and Genk's Gift Orban while the club recently signed young Argentine forward Alejo Veliz.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed the club have been planning for Kane's potential departure.

Fair to say I don't have a blow by blow account but my understanding is it has progressed to the point where it looks like it will happen. From that perspective, at least it gives us some clarity and we move forward without Harry."

"We've been planning for this, it's fair to say, for a while. It doesn't take too much investigative work to realise that this was going to happen. So we've planning for it to sort of happen anyway, our business up to now had that in mind so this doesn't change things dramatically."
