Manchester City have now reportedly reached an agreement with a new midfielder.
The club has bolstered its efforts to bring in another midfielder as they look to fill the voids left by Ilkay Gundogan, who departed as a free agent before joining FC Barcelona, and Kevin De Bruyne, who may be sidelined for up to four months due to injury.

As such, the Citizens have now reportedly set their sights on Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that personal terms have already been agreed with the 24-year-old.
"Understand Manchester City have now submitted initial bid to Wolverhampton for Matheus Nunes," Romano wrote on his social media channels.
"Nunes has already accepted City as destination, personal terms agreed."
He added that the proposal is in excess of £42 million (R1 billion), with add-ons included in the deal.
According to the Daily Mirror, City manager Pep Guardiola has been a long-time admirer of Nunes, but it is believed Wolves don't want to let go of the player.
However, because of their financial situation, they would consider selling him if the bid meets their valuation.

Nunes signed for Wolves at the beginning of last season, and made 34 Premier League appearances to help his side finish the 2022/23 campaign in 13th position.
