Man City 'offered' two stars by PSG for huge swap deal

Manchester City have reportedly been offered two star players by Paris Saint-Germain in exchange for one of their most important players this past season.

On the weekend, the Citizens became only the second club in Premier League history to win the treble after rivals Manchester United.

Their UEFA Champions League triumph over Inter Milan on Saturday added to their 2022/23 EPL title and FA Cup, with manager Pep Guardiola also becoming the first head coach to win a continental treble with two different teams, having achieved the same feat with FC Barcelona in the 2008/09 campaign.

Despite the joy of being European champions, the team could lose some of their most important stars in the near future, with the likes of captain Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva being courted by several top clubs.

Both stars played an integral part in the side's success this past season, with both ranking in the top four in the squad for the most games played.

However, their time at the Etihad is now under a cloud of uncertainty, with Silva being the likeliest to earn the club a sizeable profit.

According to Foot Mercato, with the Portuguese star a prominent target for PSG, the French club has offered to include two of their star players, namely Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti, as part of a deal to bring the City playmaker to the Parc des Princes.

It is further claimed, however, that the Manchester outfit refused to entertain the offer as they are more interested in keeping the 28-year-old, whose contract runs until June 2025.

It is said that City's valuation of the midfielder stands at £75 million (R1.7 billion).

Manchester Evening News reported earlier this week that Silva has told the club he wants to leave after a glittering six-year spell, with Barca also keeping a close eye on matters given manager Xavi Hernandez's desire to sign an inverted midfielder.
