Following his sensational hat-trick against Manchester United on Sunday, Manchester City star Phil Foden has surpassed a unique record previously held by Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi.
The England international was one of the standout performers in the Manchester derby, alongside Erling Haaland, who netted a hat-trick of his own.

Foden opened the scoring in the eighth minute, and added another just before half-time. He completed his treble in the 73rd minute, with his second strike in the fixture being his 50th goal in all competitions for the Citizens.
Aged just 22 years and 127 days old when he did so, he became the youngest star to reach 50 goals under manager Pep Guardiola, smashing the milestone previously set by Messi, who was 22 years and 162 days old when he netted a half-century of strikes under the Spanish boss at FC Barcelona, according to Goal.
The feat also marked the first time that Foden has scored more than two times in a match, and the four-time Premier League winner now has 51 goals and 35 assists in 180 games for the reigning English champions, per Transfermarkt.
Haaland, meanwhile, became the first footballer in Premier League history to score successive hat-tricks in three consecutive home matches, according to Eurosport, having also registered a trio of goals against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium this season.
