Arsenal coach confirms final decision on Partey's future

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the final decision on Thomas Partey, who reportedly has offers from Saudi Arabia.

The Gunners recently secured the services of Declan Rice in a club-record transfer, although they did lose Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen.

Partey was one of Arteta's key performers last season but has been linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

The Spanish tactician has no desire to lose the Ghanaian international, who says is able to play alongside Rice in the midfield.

"Every time I spoke to him and every time I have a conversation with him, his will is to stay with us. For me, there's nothing there at all," the Gunners manager said, as per Goal.

"They can play together and that was in my plans.

"You want to improve the squad and have more quality. We need players who can play together but we need players in the same position who can fight for their places.

"It's something we haven't had over the last few years and we wanted to improve that and that's why we bought Declan."
