Arteta responds to Arsenal's links with Sterling

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to report claims the club want to sign Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling.

The England international has been exiled from the Blues first team and reportedly been told to train at home.

Blues coach Enzo Maresca confirmed this week that Sterling is not in his plans, with the player now expected to find a new club before the transfer window closes next Friday.

Gunners manager, however, has ruled out a move for Sterling despite having worked with the winger at Manchester City.

"No, but I can talk about my time with Raheem," Arteta said, as per the Sun.

"It was exceptional, we built a really strong relationship together. He was unbelievable at the time we were together and he taught me a lot as well.

"About individuals, how they play and how we give them support and help them.

"He's someone I have a really strong feeling about."

Reports have linked with Sterling with Aston Villa while there have also been reports the winger is against a move to the Saudi Pro League.
