Manchester City have officially been crowned Premier League champions after Arsenal lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.
The Gunners dropped Kieran Tierney from the 3-0 loss to Brighton Hove Albion and re-called Leandro Trossard as well as Thomas Partey to the fold.
Forest made a purposed start and got their noses in front around the midway point when Taiwo Awoniyi bundled in a low cross into the area past Aaron Ramsdale.
Within the half-hour mark, Mikel Arteta's charges looked for a swift reply and came close through a teasing attempt from close-range by Gabriel Jesus from a build-up phase but he went over.
For all intends and purposes, the title-chasing visitors maintained on the front-foot before the close of the first half but struggled to get openings.
Arsenal encountered a strong end to the first spell where Bukayo Saka played out of a tight space and crossed for Trossard in the area, but the Belgian volleyed over.
The host were renewed moments in the second half and had Ramsdale in a spot of bother from a looping strike by Renan Lodi, but fortunately enough the latter parried.
Although, the Gunners were alive thereafter and worked a decent opening when Saka ran on the end of a delivery from Ben White and drew Keylor Navas to work.
The Gunners decided to instigate a double substitution towards the last 20 minutes with Eddie Nketiah on for Granit Xhaka before Jakub Kiwior made way for Tierney.
With time running out, Forest nearly had a second when Morgan Gibbs-White beat a few challengers to go in the area and get a shot in but Ramsdale courted.
Amidst the lengthy stoppage, the Gunners weren't able to level matters and Forest claimed victory to secure their top-flight status and more importantly hand Manchester City the title.
