The Blues triggered the attacker's release clause of €6 million (around R118 million) in his contract with the Blaugrana, and secured his services with a deal believed to be valid until June 2030.

The striker made his first-team debut for the Catalan giants in a LALIGA encounter against Athletic Bilbao last season.

After just 33 seconds on the pitch, Guiu netted the goal that handed his side a 1-0 victory, seeing him make an instant impact at Camp Nou.

The player went on to make two more appearances for the first team during the course of the season, but the forward is now set for a new challenge as he tries to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's signing of the Spanish teenager is said to have raised alarm bells in the Barca boardroom, with club sporting director Deco reportedly wanting to raise release clauses in La Masia starlets' deals in order to avoid losing them on the cheap.
