"I am proud to have represented Manchester City over the last six seasons," the Spaniard said, per City's official website.

"When I first joined, I was excited about the prospect of winning trophies. However, I could not have imagined the success we would go on to achieve together."

Laporte joined City from Athletic Bilbao in January 2018, and played a pivotal role in most of the club's successful campaigns since.

Since joining the Citizens, he has won five Premier League trophies, two FA Cups, and a Champions League title.

The Spaniard was also a member of City's team that won their first-ever treble after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the 2022/23 UCL final in Istanbul, but was used sparingly in that campaign, seemingly propmting him to look elsewhere for more game time.
