Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola now reportedly wants to sign a Chelsea star who is refusing to sign a new contract in London.
Having signed Mateo Kovacic from them in the latest window, the Citizens have now set their sights on Ian Maatsen, who is believed to be reluctant to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge despite the club's attempts to extend his stay, according to 90min.

With the 21-year-old having less than a year left on his current contract, the left-back's situation is believed to have attracted many clubs around Europe, and it is understood City are now among the suitors.
The Manchester side has reportedly prioritised the signing of a left-back for the January window, and a potential low-cost move for Maatsen is said to appeal to the club.
The Dutchman's future at the Blues became complicated during the most recent window when the London club agreed to sell him to Burnley, where he had spent the 2022/23 season on loan and helped the side achieve Premier League promotion.
It is understood the Premier League giants felt at the time that his sale would help them balance their books after the many signings they had made in the window.
However, Maatsen rejected the opportunity to reunite with his former peers at Turf Moor, who had a bid of £31.5 million (R751 million) accepted by Chelsea, and is now said to be considering taking his career away from Stamford Bridge.

Other reports suggest, however, that the Londoners will now continue to try to tie the player down to a fresh new contract, with manager Mauricio Pochettino believed to be a big admirer, having handed the fullback three league appearances already this season.
