Pep 'wants' Real Madrid star at Man City

Pep Guardiola now reportedly wants a certain Real Madrid star at the Etihad.

After reportedly being offered the chance to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for another year, Toni Kroos will have more to contemplate as interest from Manchester City could see him reunite with his former Bayern Munich manager, according to Hard Tackle.

It is further claimed that the Citizens are prepared to offer the Germany international a contract worth £13 million (R300 million) a season.

Kroos played under Guardiola for a year at Bayern in the 2013/14 campaign before making the move to Madrid.

However, the Premier League champions could face a major obstacle in securing his signature as the midfielder has previously stated that he is eager to end his career in the Spanish capital.

According to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, Kroos contemplated retirement before signing his latest contract extension with the LALIGA giants in June this year, and those thoughts will now play an important role in the decision he takes regarding his future.

His future at Los Blancos was in doubt at the beginning of the season due to the young, dynamic midfielders currently in Carlo Ancelotti's ranks. However, Kroos has still featured fairly regularly this season, and has produced consistently good performances too.

The German has made 11 appearances for Los Blancos so far in this campaign, chipping in with a goal and two assists.
