Potter's final words to Chelsea stars 'revealed'

With Chelsea sacking Graham Potter on Sunday night, the manager's final words to the Blues squad have now reportedly been revealed.

The British manager was sacked just seven months into his tenure after a dismal run of form left the club languishing in the bottom half of the table.

During the team's latest loss to Aston Villa on Saturday, Potter faced chants of "you don't know what you're doing" from the home crowd at Stamford Bridge.

While the pressure on him was already high before that match, the manager had insisted he had the backing of the squad just a day before he was given his marching orders.

Despite the chanting aimed at him during that defeat to Villa, Potter seemingly had no idea his dismissal was on the cards, with Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek having since revealed what the tactician's last message to the players was before his sacking.

"The gaffer in the dressing room straight away said that we have a lot of games this month, important ones that we need to be ready for and dwelling on this [defeat] will certainly not help, especially with Liverpool coming up," the midfielder told the club's official website.

"So we need to put this behind us as quickly as possible, obviously analyse the game, but then move on and be ready for Liverpool."

Potter's former assistant Bruno Saltor will act as interim boss ahead of the Blues' tie against Liverpool on Tuesday night, and will remain in charge until a permanent successor is appointed.
