Pep Guardiola's charges had an early lead after Bernardo Silva had a tap-in from a flicked header by De Bruyne.
De Bruyne doubled the lead for The Citizens on the half-hour mark with a composed finish after a through ball by Doku.
Doku buried the game for City just before the hour-mark after he raced through on goal.
Newcastle 3-3 Liverpool
Leaders Liverpool could not win five games in a row after they were pegged back by Newcastle United in a six-goal thriller at St. James' Park.
The Reds had three alternative following their win over Man City, as Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez and Jarell Quansah came back to the fore.
Alexander Isak broke the deadlock for Newcastle ten minutes before the interval with a strike into the top corner after a through ball and Jones levelled matters for Liverpool early in the second stanza after a square pass from Salah.
Anthony Gordon restored the lead for The Magpies shortly after the hour-mark after he combined with Isak.
Salah made it 2-2 for Arne Slot's charges midway into the second stanza after he latched onto a through ball by Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Salah thought he had netted the winner for The Reds seven minutes before time after he made it 3-2 and completed his brace.
