Brighton end Arsenal's Premier League title hopes?

Manchester City need one more win to clinch the Premier League title after Arsenal lost 3-0 to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday evening.

An injury to Oleksandr Zinchenko provided Arsenal the chance to introduce Kieran Tierney out at the fullback role following their 2-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend.

The Seagulls were unfazed following the start and impressively bypassed a press to bring Evan Ferguson on strike from the tightest of angles, but Aaron Ramsdale thwarted.

Mikel Arteta meanwhile was called to an enforced alteration with 20 minutes played as an earlier knock saw Gabriel Martinelli limped off uncomfortably and Leandro Trossard brought on.

However, Trossard nearly put one over his former team ten minutes later when he charged in the area following a run-up and skinned the woodwork through a rasping shot.

Brighton came alive soon from the half-hour mark and should've had the lead courtesy of Julio Enciso's tap-in following Kaoru Mitoma's cutback, but he missed.

The title-chasers enjoyed a strong finish to the first half though as a mis-placed ball from a corner rolled onto Bukayo Saka, but he flashed wide after cutting an angle.

Roberto De Zerbi's men stunned the host five minutes in the second half after a well-weighted cross allowed Enciso to pounce for a close-range finish off the head.

Arsenal attempted an immediate reply midway through the second period when Reiss Nelson made a darting run out wide before cutting in to lash wide.

The Gunners were left frustrated and the Seagulls used this to good effect as a loose pass fell right at Deniz Undav and the forward comfortably lobbed in.

De Zerbi's boys bagged a third in the dying minutes when Pervis Estupinan ran in from a tight angle and tucked in a loose ball to confirm the victory and leave the Gunners title hopes in tatters.
