Liverpool opened a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League standings with a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday evening.
The visitors were without Mohamed Salah, Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Anolrd, as Jurgen Klopp gave starts to Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliot, Alexis Mac Allister and Conor Bradley, who was making his league debut.
Jurgen Klopp's men enjoyed most of the ball in the opening stages of the first half, but they were unable to carve out any big chances in the opening 20 minutes.
While chances were few and far between the first half, neither side held back in the tackles as the game began to get a bit scrappy at the midway point.
The disappointing first half became distant memory, as the Reds opened the scoring three minutes after the break when a neat passing move ended with Jota playing in Nunez who sent a first-time finish into the back of the net.
With Bournemouth pushing the equaliser, Klopp opted for a double change after the hour mark as Luis Diaz and Elliot made way for Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo to freshen up the attack.
However, it was the Reds who managed to double their lead on 69 minutes when Jota grabbed his tenth goal in all competitions with a powerful finish past Neto after being played in by Gakpo.
Jota was not done there as the Portugal international bagged his second and Liverpool's third goal on 79 minutes with a neat finish from close range after his initial effort was blocked.
Liverpool were able to added a fourth goal in time added on as Nunez completed his brace by turning home a cross from Joe Gomez to wrap up a good win.
