Premier League holders Manchester City maintained their unbeaten record after a 2-2 draw with ten-man Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday evening.
Riccardo Calafiori and Declan Rice earned recalls for the Gunners, replacing Ben White and Jorginho, as City named five changes in Rodri, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Jeremy Doku and Bernardo Silva.
Ten minutes were it all took the reigning champions to take off when Erling Haaland ran on the inside of the defence and calmly fired in to ensure his 100th goal in 105 appearances for the club.
Rodri unfortunately didn't last the full haul and was taken off inside 16 minutes due to a knock and had Mateo Kovacic on in his place.
Arsenal evened matters at the midway mark of the first spell as Gabriel Martinelli angled in towards the area and teed-up Calafiori to apply a sumptuous first-time finish.
The Gunners received a perfect opportunity to go ahead through a header from Gabriel Magalhaes following Bukayo Saka's corner, but it rolled wide.
Gabriel made up on the brink of the interval when he sneaked in-behind Gvardiol after making perfect connection with Saka's corner and nodded beyond Ederson Moraes.
Arsenal were a man down in added time as Leandro Trossard clattered into Silva and give the match officials no choice but to give a second yellow followed by a red card.
The visitors introduced a substitution past halftime, with Saka removed for White and looked to adapt being a man down.
With the defending champions behind, Haaland were close to level matters through a potent header but David Raya palmed and denied Silva on the follow-up too.
City still looked for a way back as the half went by however struggled to get in-behind the Gunners nor a clear pathway to goal.
It continued for the better part until defender John Stones pulled at the death and dispatched a loose ball from inside the area to wrestle a point for his team, denying the Gunners victory.
