Erling Haaland and Phil Foden stole the show as Manchester City thrashed Manchester United 6-3 in the first Manchester derby of the season.
Man City recalled Kyle Walker, Manuel Akanji and IIkay Gundogan, with Phil Foden and Jack Grealish on either side of Erling Haaland while Man United dropped Cristiano Ronaldo in favour of Marcus Rashford.
The Citizens enjoyed a quick start as they went ahead inside eight minutes after Foden unleashed a rocket in the box after a cut-back by Bernardo Silva.
Pep Guardiola's charges remained on the front foot and after Gundogan was denied the second goal by the post from a free-kick, Haaland doubled their lead 11 minutes before the interval with a header from a corner by Kevin De Bruyne.
City were in complete control and Haaland quickly made it 3-0 three minutes later with a side-footed finish at the back post after Du Bruyne was given space to pick up the Norwegian.
As United tried to come out, as they were caught on a counter-attack on the stroke of halftime after Foden extended the lead for the hosts with a sliding finish at the back post after a clipped pass by Haaland.
Erik ten Hag's troops did not drop their head coming from the half-time break as Antony scored a consolation goal 11 minutes in with a curled strike into the bottom corner after he cut inside the box.
However, City quickly regained their dominance, as Haaland completed his hat-trick on 65 minutes with a first-time strike in the box after a cross by Sergio Gomez.
Foden also went on to grab his third goal of the day with a curled strike past goalkeeper David de Gea after he was teed up by fellow hat-trick hero Haaland.
Anthony Martial got the second consolation goal for the Red Devils in the last six minutes with a header from a rebound after goalkeeper Ederson saved Fred's shot on his path.
United had a penalty in stoppage time after Joao Cancelo caught Martial's ankle in the box and the Frenchman fired in the third goal for the Red Devils with a strike into the top corner, but it was too little too late.
