Man City outclass rivals Man Utd at Old Trafford

Erling Haaland netted twice as Manchester City eased to a 3-0 victory over cross-town rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof replaced Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon while Christian Eriksen entered for Antony in United's three changes, while City welcomed back Kyle Walker, John Stones, Josko Gvardiol and Bernardo Silva.

City were first to pose a threat over eight minutes in from a flying header by Phil Foden following a cutback by Walker, but United goalkeeper Andre Onana palmed emphatically.

The Citizens did go in front four minutes before the half-hour mark when a foul in the area by Rasmus Hojlund on Rodri led to a penalty, Erling Haaland stepped up to make no mistake for his first goal at Old Trafford.

Haaland was denied a brace in added time through a point-blank header at the back-post after attacking Jack Grealish's cross, but Onana made a tremendous reaction save.

The Norwegian sharp-shooter did make up though four minutes in the second half when he latched on the end of Silva's floated ball to send in a flying header.

United were in desperate search of a lifeline and very nearly got in when Marcus Rashford sneaked in behind from a clever ball, but slammed across the face of goal.

At the other end, Onana rushed out of his area to deny Haaland a hat-trick with a point-blank save as the defence went to sleep.

Onana was breached again in the last ten minutes where he parried a fierce shot from Rodri back into play and saw Haaland collet the loose ball to set-up Foden to find the net.

The Red Devils weren't able to match the Citizens, who ran down the last minutes and grabbed the derby win.
