Manchester United resumed their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.
Following the Carabao Cup win over Burnley, the host recalled David De Gea, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane and Antony and faced their former man Jesse Lingard for the first time since parting ways.
The first chance in anger was presented by United when Tyrell Malacia worked space left of the area and fired a shot away, but goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey palmed onto the post and into touch.

However, United ultimately surged in front nine minutes later after Marcus Rashford showed presence of mind in the area and dispatched Christian Eriksen's delivery with ease.
Forest conceded a second goal in no less than three minutes when a move from the back allowed Rashford to drop left of the area and cutback for Anthony Martial to slot through the grasp of Hennessey.
The away team thought to have pulled one back before the break through a snap finish by Willy Boly from Ryan Yates' move, but it was disallowed for offside following a review.
Forest worked another threat after the break when a low delivery by Serge Aurier met Orel Mangala, who managed to get into position only to head into the side-netting.
The Red Devils conjured up a response minutes apart as Bruno Fernandes played Antony in from Rashford's defence-splitting pass, but Hennessey saved whilst Lewis O'Brien replaced Lingard.
Nonetheless, the host bagged a third goal and put Forest out of sight three minutes from time when Casemiro intercepted a break-attack and released Fred to find the net with a smart finish.
Thus, United stormed to victory and resumed their campaign on a winning note and moreover keep their top-four hopes alive while Forest remain in troubled territory.
