Three EPL giants now 'want' Vinicius after racism row

With Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Junior having expressed his frustration with the challenges he faces in Spain, three English giants are now reportedly keen to sign the Brazilian.

The 22-year-old has made headlines this week after he was once again racially abused by opposition fans during a league game against Valencia on Sunday.

The appalling event has drawn huge interest across Europe and South America, with Brazil's minister of justice Flavio Dino having threatened to adopt the Principle of Extraterritoriality against Spain, according to Marca.

The principle, which is referred to in the Brazilian Penal Code, provides that, in exceptional situations, it is possible to apply Brazilian law in cases of crimes against Brazilians even abroad.

In the aftermath of the match on Sunday, Vinicius suggested that Spain "belongs to racists" and seemingly hinted at potentially leaving the country as a whole if serious action is not taken.

Some of his calls seem to have been heard, with LaLiga having punished Valencia and rescinded the Los Blancos attacker's red card from that match, while authorities have also arrested several alleged perpetrators.

With the Selecao winger said to be unhappy in his current environment, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United have shown their interest snapping up the South American talent, believing England would bring the footballer slightly more peace of mind, according to Fichajes.

It is claimed the Brazil star wants an inclusive and more protected space from racism, and feels this is not handled with the necessary measures in Spain, seemingly giving the English trio hope they can convince him of a move to the Premier League.

Joining Liverpool would be a daunting ask, though, given that the club looks set to miss out on 2023/24 UEFA Champions League football, but Newcastle will play in the UCL for the first time in two decades next season and are expected to heavily boost their squad for the competition, while the Red Devils are said to be capable of paying Vinicius a huge salary to join them.

However, Real would reportedly demand upwards of €200 million (R4.1 billion) for Vinicius given his huge potential to become one of the best footballers in the world, so it remains to be seen if an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu will transpire in the next transfer window, with Paris Saint-Germain also said to be keen on the player.
